Meeting Listener

Record a sales call or meeting and let Askforce propose the Salesforce actions to take — log a call, create follow-up tasks, update deal stage. Review, select, and apply in one tap.

Overview

The Meetings tab transcribes your conversations in real time and proposes Salesforce actions based on what was discussed. Available on both iOS and web.

iOS✅ All browsers
Web — Chrome / Edge
Web — Safari

You choose which actions to apply, then push them to Salesforce in a single tap. A formatted meeting notes file is automatically attached to the linked Salesforce record.

Recording a meeting

Start recording

Tap the red microphone button to start recording. The button turns red and the transcript appears in real time as you speak.

ℹ️
Askforce uses Apple SFSpeechRecognizer for transcription. Audio is processed by Apple — it does not leave your device in its raw form. The final transcript text is sent to the Askforce backend for analysis.

Stop recording

Tap the microphone button again to stop. If you haven't linked a Salesforce record yet, Askforce will ask whether you want to link one before analyzing. You can:

  • Link Record — search and select an Opportunity, Account, Contact, or Lead
  • Analyze Without Record — proceed immediately without linking

Analysis starts automatically after you close the record search sheet — no extra tap needed.

Linking a Salesforce record

Linking a record associates the meeting with a specific Salesforce record. This means:

  • Tasks and activities created from the meeting are linked via WhatId
  • The formatted meeting notes file is attached directly to that record
  • Askforce uses the record name and context when analyzing the transcript

You can link a record before you start recording (tap the link icon at the top) or when you stop — whichever is more convenient.

Search supports: Opportunities, Accounts, Contacts, Leads.

Reviewing proposed actions

After analysis, Askforce displays:

  • A 2–3 sentence summary of what was discussed
  • A list of proposed Salesforce actions, each as a checkbox

All actions are pre-selected. Use the checkboxes to deselect any you don't want to apply. Select All and Select None controls are at the top.

Types of proposed actions

Action typeExample
Log a callCreate a completed Task with call details
Create a follow-up taskTask with due date and description
Schedule a meetingEvent with date, time, and participants
Update a recordChange opportunity stage, amount, or notes

Applying to Salesforce

Tap Apply to Salesforce to execute the selected actions. Each action shows an individual success or failure result:

  • Done — action applied successfully
  • 📎 Attached — meeting notes file attached to the record
  • Failed — action could not be applied (reason shown)
  • Skipped — action was skipped (e.g. missing required record ID)

Once applied, the checkboxes lock — you cannot re-apply the same set of actions accidentally.

Meeting notes attachment

If a Salesforce record is linked, Askforce automatically creates a formatted .txt file containing:

  • Date and linked record name
  • Meeting summary
  • List of actions logged to Salesforce
  • Full transcript

This file is attached directly to the linked record as a Salesforce ContentVersion (Files), visible under the record's Files related list.

Permissions

The Meeting Listener requires two iOS permissions, which are requested on first use:

PermissionPurpose
MicrophoneCapture audio during recording
Speech RecognitionConvert your speech to text in real time
⚠️
If you deny either permission, the Meeting Listener will not be able to record. You can grant them later in iOS Settings → Askforce.
